Award winning journalist Weijia Jiang joined the Channel 2 news team in June 2012. Before coming to New York, Weijia spent four years reporting for WJZ-TV, the CBS owned and operated station in Baltimore. She is thrilled to remain in the CBS family. While in Maryland, Weijia covered a wide range of events from the D.C. metro crash of 2009, to NFL Playoffs, to several high profile trials, including the first one under the state’s revised capital punishment law. Prior to that, she was a reporter, fill-in anchor, and fill-in producer at WBOC-TV in Salisbury, MD.

She also worked as a D.C correspondent for WBRE in Scranton, PA. Weijia got her first TV gig at age 13, as a reporter anchor for ChannelOne news in Los Angeles. She has been honored with Edward R Murrow and AP awards for her work.

Weijia earned graduated from The College of William and Mary, where she studied Philosophy and Chemistry. She also earned a Master’s degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
