Experiential Learning

Learn and Lead on Campus

The field of sport management is extremely competitive. Consequently, it is critical for you to begin building your personal portfolio as early as possible and develop sports leadership experience. Join a sport management-specific student organization at Syracuse University, including the Sport Management Club, Women in Sports and Events, SPM Sales Club, Sport Professionals of Color, the Sabermetrics Club, or ’Cuse Crew. Students also volunteer to work events at the JMA Wireless Dome, Syracuse Athletics, one of the professional baseball or hockey teams in Syracuse, or numerous other events which travel through Syracuse and Central New York.

Experiential Learning

Gain Proficiency with Industry-Standard Equipment

Falk College’s Milton Conrad Technology Lab doubles as a student classroom and computer lab that meets the latest programming trends in event and sport venue operations and provides you with live game-day production experiences. You’ll learn to operate live events using equipment identical to what is found at major sport venues, such as ribbon boards and a scoreboard systems controller. In addition, a dedicated podcast studio provides students with opportunities to develop their communication skills with this important new media forum.
