The cost of attendance is an estimate of what it will cost for a graduate student to attend Syracuse University for an academic year.

The cost of attendance includes expenses for the graduate student alone and cannot be increased to cover living expenses of other family members.

The total of all student financial assistance cannot exceed the Cost of Attendance.

Estimated Cost of Attendance

The following cost of attendance is based on enrollment of 18 credits for the academic year (fall and spring):

Tuition - $35,010 ($1,945 per credit)

Housing and food -$15,924

Miscellaneous fees -$992

Books, course materials, supplies, and equipment - $1,070

Transportation - $1,690

Personal expenses - $2,327

Loan fees (if applicable) - $216

Health insurance* - $2,474

Total Cost of Attendance - $59,703

*This mandatory fee may be waived if the student has adequate private health insurance.

The following is the cost of attendance for one quarter term (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer) with registration for six (6) credit hours:

Tuition - $11,670 ($1,945 per credit)

Housing and food - $6,369

Miscellaneous fees - $0*

Books, course materials, supplies, and equipment - $357

Transportation - $126

Personal expenses - $931

Loan fees (if applicable) - $72

Total Cost of Attendance - $19,525

*Program fees are charged for residency only.

Graduate tuition differs for students enrolled in the following programs:

  • Social work (Main Campus and online) is $1,167 per credit
  • Marriage and family therapy (Main Campus and online) is $1,167 per credit
  • College of Law (Residential and JDinteractive) is $2,234 per credit
