Registered student organizations (RSOs) provide students with the opportunity to connect, create and build with others. With over 300 student-run organizations on campus, being able to find your group is easier than ever. During Welcome Week, the Student Involvement Fair highlights the many ways students can explore their passions and make their time at Syracuse University unforgettable.
Embrace Your Creative Spark
The RSOs with a focus on creative pursuits allow you to embrace your artistic side and find new ways of expressing yourself. Creativity comes in many forms; the written word, movement through dance and illustration brought to life are a few examples of ways your passions can be explored at Syracuse. RSOs like Tender Magazine, Raices Dance Troupe and Orange Shorts Student Animation Studio are just a sample of artistic student organizations offered each year.
Empower Your Future
Exploring an RSO pertaining to your academic or professional goals connects you with other likeminded students and faculty. Diving deeper into your interests, you’re able to network, collaborate and innovate. Engineering students can explore clubs like Orange Robotics or Cuse Baja to take the skills they learn in the classroom and create something tangible. Professional groups like the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and National Association of Black Accountants connect students within the same program to empower them in their future careers.
Find Your Fit
Our sports and recreational clubs offer many activities for students to explore. Whether you’re a novice or an expert in the field, these clubs are welcoming to all who are interested in joining. Athletic-driven RSOs like the Skateboarding Club at Syracuse University or the weightlifting club known as Girl Gains introduce members to their communities and create an approachable and enjoyable experience for rookies and pros alike. Recreational clubs like the Beekeeping Club encourage anyone wanting to learn the art to join.
Celebrate Your Community
Cultural and international RSOs create a space for students to connect with their communities on campus, and ones such as the South Asian Student Association, the Haitian American Student Association and the Chinese Union host events and activities throughout the year and are a great way to learn the perspectives of others. These are an opportunity to celebrate heritage, build connections and forge friendships.
Amplify Your Impact
Serve your community through student organizations that promote advocacy and service. These organizations, like Best Buddies International at SU or the Volunteer Organization also known as SUVO, pair you with community-based service opportunities. Fostering connection with volunteer clubs based on your skills, interests and availability allows you to find your perfect match.
